The Last Play Standing® Submission Guidelines:

Acceptable Submissions
:
Plays that have had previous readings or workshops
Plays that have not been produced several times
Plays with incidental music

Submissions We Do Not Accept
Plays that have been produced several
Musicals
Children's plays
Foreign language plays
Strong dance movement plays
Plays with graphic portrayal of violence of any kind against children
Casting with more than fifteen actors  



To submit your play / script please provide the following

1. The Two (2) best scenes from your script:
Each scene should be no more than 5 pages long (or 4 minutes running time) in standard 12 pt font size, 8.5" x 11" with pages numbered. We want to see the 2 scenes that you feel best represent your talent, your passion, your gift (i.e., the 2 best scenes, the 2 most contrasting scenes, the 2 scenes that define your characters best).

2. Synopsis of the play (1/4 page maximum) or “Teaser Statement” for the play:
Brief statement of your play to capture the interest of audience and press alike.
No more than 350 characters with spaces.

3. Character breakdown for the whole play:
Include the number of men, women, and children, along with age breakdown.
Include character details, and ages. Be sure to note any special casting needs, i.e. children, animals, jugglers, etc.

4. Running time (estimated) for the whole play


5. Please, no complete manuscripts

6. Brief description of yourself as an artist / playwright and your resume should answer the following: 
Have the scenes/script submitted ever been produced anywhere? If yes, please state where.
Have you been produced as a playwright before? If yes, please give details: what was produced, and when and where it was produced.
Previous workshop/ reading history

7. Include all available methods of contact including email on your title page (address, phone/cell/pager number, email address).

For those submissions not following the email format we request a $10 submission processing donation via paypal.
In recognition of the special nature of theater where community standards are involved, in cases where the play script can be shown to seriously jeopardize the relationship between the theater and a community, we ask that you exercise reasonable discretion in choosing your submission. In the event where your text jeopardizes the theaters relationship with the community the performance during phases 1 and or 2 may be stopped.
